Arab-Israeli Cooperation

A new era in the history of the Middle-East

September 15, 2020, will be remembered as the beginning of a new era in Arab-Israeli relations. On this day, the Foreign Ministers of two Arab countries, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, signed an agreement to establish diplomatic relations with Israel. The agreement, called the Abraham Accords Peace Agreement, was mediated by the President of the USA, Donald J. Trump. The Abraham Accords require opening a new page in the history of relations of Israel with Arab countries.

To celebrate this historical turning-point in the history of the Middle East, this website opened this directory of Arab - Israeli Cooperation. The Abraham Accords promise a peaceful future for both the People of Israel and the People of Arab countries.

What is revolutionary about Abraham Accords?

Throughout a full century of Arab-Israeli conflict, the Arab states had formed a united front against Israel both in wars staged against Israel, and in international forums such as the UN. This united front was led by radical Islamists who openly claimed and still claim their desire to "erase Israel from the world map". These radical Islamists (both Shiites and Sunnis) also initiated many intra-Arab wars where the number of Arabs killed was much much greater than those killed in wars against Israel. For examples see the results of the Iran-Iraq war, Al-Qaeda violence, the revolutions in Libya and Algeria, and the current civil-war in Syria.

The Abraham Accords established the principle that independent Arab states will no longer follow the lead of the violent Islamic radicals. The Arab language and culture is widespread in all of the Middle-East and North Africa. The Arabic culture is not homogeneous and has major geographic regional differences. By establishing warm relations with Israel, including cultural, academic, commercial and tourism ties with Israel, the countries that are signatories to the Abraham Accords, asserted their independence and desire to detach themselves from radical factions.

This revolution in policy, was not the result of a sudden change. During the past decade there have many been many individuals from various countries (including Saudi Arabia, and Morocco) who openly expressed their desire to establish cultural ties with Israel. At the level of national policies, the leaders of some Arab states started seeing that they share common strategic interests with Israel, preventing the spread of terrorist radical groups such as the Hizbullah supported by the Islamic regime in Iran.
